They Mystery Woman in Red-Bottom Heels

We've all been whisked away in our sleep to our favorite reacurring dream, where you were eating tacos and drinking orange fanta, or marrying the perfect handsome stranger, or you're taking the perfect nap in fresh sheets (because for some that literally only happens in your dreams) , and your life is basically a Pinterest Board. Well, my dream was suddenly invaded by a new nightmare. We've all read that dreams sometimes can be some type of premonition or supressed memory from long ago. Most dreams have a sliver of reality along with a huge dose of fantasy. Some dreams we remeber, some we don't thank heavens. Sometimes dreams help shape difficult decision making as well. This is the first time my reoccurring dream intertwind with a literal somewhat life altering vision.

It starts with my high school reunion. There is a woman, slender and tall in a black dress and red bottom Christian Louboutin heels, with short curl hair, and something draped across her body, and hanging to her left side. She's standing there with a man, and both of them are facing away from me. Now this Mystery woman in the past did not have this intrusion hanging across her body like a a fanny pack you were made to wear as a kid on school field trips. It took me a couple of times to realize just what it was because of course this mystery woman absolutley CANNOT be me, but it was me and she was wearing a heart monitor.

Hello, my name is Jordan and I have Mitrial Valve Prolapse (MVP). MVP is a very common disease that people all over the world may have, but never know. Unfortunately in my less than lucky life I had symptoms of shortness of breath and chest pain, which landed me in the hospital with this diagnoses. MVP happens when the leaflets of the mitrial valve bulge into the hearts left atrium like a balloon during a contraction. So during my five day hospital stay being poked and prodded, I had a what i and my mom call a "coming to Jesus meeting". What better place and time to have one, right ? When I got sick four months ago now, we started off at the Pulmonologist with a possible Cystic Fibrosis diagnoses, but over the next month or so we prayed, doused myself with olive oil blessed by my Pastor and the tears and prayers of a worried Mother. We held the Lords Supper in my bedroom, we made it very clear that we would take anything else, literally any other diagnoses on a lesser scale. God answer our prayers in the best way possible. It may be a chronic disorder, but it can be controlled and has no life expectancy. MVP is a gift from God that said to me, "I got yo back Jay". I first had this new version of my dream in the hospital (of all places). Out of the five nights there I had it four times. So even while completely awake the scenes from the dream were still quite vivid. I could not believe it was me, all this time I'm thinking "girl please only in your dreams" literally!

So, the reason behind this long drawn out blog post about my defective, but very exciting life ? To tell you struggling with the heels and valleys, God has your back literally through everything you've every encountered, and those things to come. It takes a roller coaster (much like this poorly written blog post) to come back full circle to believing God has his clutch on us, so don't be angry for too long, don't shed too many tears, because in the end, literally everything goes through Jesus first.
